Overview
Astronomy and space science have become global economic and scientific phenomena in recent times, growing rapidly around the world. They contribute substantially to the economy of many countries where more and more resources are invested in the industry in pursuit of scientific development. In less developed countries, very little or no resources is voted for planning for astronomy and space science. Such adventure is passed for an exclusive reserve of the affluent countries. But, the fruits of space science, e.g. Satellite, abound around us, and we must act now before it gets late. This faculty seeks to attract attention to the nature and characteristics of the space exploration, to arouse interest and explore how the industry can be better planned, marketed, and well managed.
Designed for
People who want to gain critical understanding of the complex nature of science and technology involved in space science of the past, present and future, with a view to exploiting the challenging opportunities in the space exploration industry, particularly, in management or planning positions in both public and private sectors. It will be very rewarding to planners who wish to make pioneering careers in professional services to the industry in various positions.
Aims
To provide professional training and solid intellectual base, to deepen knowledge and develop skills built upon current techniques and state of the art in planning and plan implementation. The programme could open new doors of opportunities to develop expertise in astronomy and space science, which has remained largely unexplored.
Objectives
The programme seeks to produce highly skilled international planning professionals who possess the requisite knowledge, skills and competence to excel in the industry, either as professional planning service providers or as investors and/or executives.
