DR. VERONICA OKWANUZO OKOLO

She is a member of the Institute’s Governing Council.

She holds an Honorary Doctorate degree in Business Administration from Poma University, Ifangi, Republican of Benin, conferred in 2021 and Master Energy and Petroleum Economics from Delta State Universit , Abraka, 2005. She is a statutorily retired from NNPC-Warri Refining and Petrochemical Company Ltd {WRPC} as Manager, Public Affairs.

Her career in WRPC spanned 35 years with working experience garnered from Quality Control, Planning and Budget Monitoring, Public Relations amongst others. She won several awards while in service including safe work attitude and exceptional good housekeeping. She is also a recipient of Pillar of Excellence award, 2009 and integrity in Professionalism Award, 2017 both from the Institute of Human and Natural Resources (IHNR). She was conferred with Professional Fellowship Doctorate by the Institute of Chartered Economists of Nigeria (ICEN) in 2020.

Ms. Okolo is a Fellow of several professional bodies- Institute of Planning (IPN), Institute of Human and Natural Resources (IHNR), Institute of Chartered Economists of Nigeria (ICEN), Africa Institute of Chartered Entrepreneurship Management (AICEM), Africa Institute of Chartered Management (AICM), Africa Institute of Chartered Economists (ACEI), and England Institute of Word Chartered Economists (EIWCE). She is also a member of Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered) and Institute of Science Technology, Shefield, UK.

Until her retirement in WRPC in November, 2020 she was Manager, Public Affairs. Her key responsibilities including coordinating the activities and budget of the department, managing good relationship with the media and host communities, implementing community development projects, publicizing WRPC activities, coordinating protocols, consular and social activities, carrying out the company’s corporate social responsibilities and advising Management on public relations activities.
